The latest in the field of aortic valve surgery is TEVAR or TAVI. This is done in the Cathlab and is as simple as an angiographic procedure . With no pain and can be done under local anaesthesia with the patient completely awake or with minimal sedation.
I have undergone the training modules and have been doing it for a few years now and the popularity of TEVAR has gone up.
